Brand identity and design project for the brand Verbena Veneris, and its offshoot, Isis e Pedro.
Verbena Veneris is a brand of herbal mixes and nature inspired remedies, that draws from new and ancient knowledge to create teas, herbal mixes, cocktails and mocktails, incense, and other natural products, that nurture the body and mind.
Isis e Pedro is an offshoot of this brand, originally conceived to be the front facing café/restaurant face of the brand Verbena Veneris, it has also branched into an arts and crafts business with international representation.
The Verbena Veneris logo is inspired by the plants most commonly used in the creation of the brands products, drawn in a wreath like circle, that emphasizes the cyclical nature of the seasons, and the natural world that produces these plants, which in turn, inspires the flavours and smells of the herbal mixes and remedies.
Isis and Pedro shares part of the design on the main brand's logo (the top 2/3 of the wreath, but has at its centre, the two main characters of the brand - Isis and Pedro, the founders beloved cats, here represented as balanced opposites, to both match their personalities, and the essence of the brand's focus on harmony and balance.
Aside from the design of the logos, the brand's identity is also reflected on the packaging, though a bespoke floral pattern, inspired once more, by the plants most commonly used in the brand's products, and stylistically, on medieval and renaissance naturalist illustrations, which showed, not only the plants themselves, but the world of symbiotic relationships that surrounds them.
To accompany it, custom made icons for magical and medicinal properties were also created, reaffirming the connection with the natural world, and ancient knowledge.
The floral pattern has a versatile design, and has also been incorporated in the brand's social media accounts, adding a layer of interest and consistency to the publications.
